Focus classes at SMBTKD concentrate in depth on particular aspects of taekwondo training (i.e., technique, poomse, self-defense, breaking, or sparring) introduced and practiced in regular classes.
Tuesdays, 6-7:00: Poomse (Forms) (All Adults & Children with Permission)
Class concentrates on precision of movement and of technique. Recommended for all students interested in competition, meditation, practical application of technique, or just performing better on their next belt test!
Wednesdays, 6-7:15: Self-Defense & Weapons (Adults)
Class focuses on principles of self-defense (Ho Shin Sul), including one-step sparring (Il Bo Dae Ryun), and weapons. Recommended for students who want to improve their coordination and reflexes as well as their ability to quickly and compassionately resolve conflicts.
